This test part (dimensions approx. 90 mm tall, 150
mm long, 100 mm wide, with 0.5 mm thick walls and floors) can be machined in less than 30
minutes using one four fluted solid carbide tool (e.g. no tool change required) from a
solid aluminum billet using High-Speed/High-Velocity machining techniques that MLI helped
pioneer.

REFERENCE: Part originally proposed by Cincinnati Machine on
visit to the University of Florida in the Spring of 1996. Part first produced,
planned, programmed and machined in only two tries by the Univerisity of Florida Machine Tool Research Center
less than two weeks later.
